Flying Pictures in Berlin

The new Flying Steps performance in cooperation with Brazilian artist duo Osgemeos.

On 03.04.2019 the performance Flying Pictures premiered at Hamburger Bahnhof. Based on Modest Mussorgsky’s “Pictures of an Exhibition”, the show combines elements of art, music as well as dance and transforms the story of the narrator walking through an exhibition into a visual movement for the first time. On a multi-dimensional stage the Flying Steps show a choreography of urban/contemporary dance. They will be accompanied by Vivan and Ketan Bhatti’s reinterpretation of the music piece as well as the beatboxer Mando.

Costume transport from Brasil to Germany

The exhibits as well as the stage scenery were designed by the artists Osgemeos. In collaboration with our partner in Brazil we took care that the approx. 2,50 meter tall puppets, which are a part of the Gesamtkunstwerk, found their way to Berlin. The sensitive art works were transported in custom made wooden boxes in order to arrive unscathed. From 05.04. to 02.06.2019 visitors can get carried away!
